Activities

If you like to get out and do, Bohamia is for you. Miles of hiking/biking trails will bring you close to nature. The 5-acre stocked pond is great for swimming and fishing. And don’t forget about campfires and grilling! If you’re up for exploring further, venture out into the Talladega National Forest bordering the property, where you’ll find abundant Southeastern flora and fauna, streams and lakes, and as much adventure as you want!

Hiking

Miles of hiking and biking trails cover the property, so you can connect with nature and get your steps in. From flat, easygoing trails to challenging hikes with steep hills, there’s enough hiking at Bohamia to last you a week. And when that runs out, cross over into the Talladega National Forest, where 400,000 acres awaits. A short trail hike leads to the gorgeous Blue Hole swimming spot. And serious hikers and backpackers can even connect to the famed Pinhoti trail, which leads up to the internationally renowned Appalachian Trail.

Fishing

Don’t forget your fishing tackle! Our 5-acre pond is stocked with bass and bream to delight fishermen young and old. Drop a line in the water with your little ones and teach them the joy of fishing. Or cast your line out deep to try and bag a big boy. Fly fishing welcome too! Gear up and hike along the rivers and streams of the Talladega National Forest for that authentic fish stalking experience.

Campfires

No camping experience is complete without a great campfire. Every campsite at Bohamia comes with a fire ring and grill attachment. Cook up a delicious dinner over real wood coals, and then stoke up the fire for tall tales and s’mores galore. Feeling social? The staff at The Lodge have been known to host a bonfire or two, where campers come to gather and mingle, pass around the guitar, and make merry into the night. Connecting with nature - and with each other - is what Bohamia is all about. And there’s nothing like making new friends around a bonfire under the stars.

Gorgeous gorgeous land

“Gorgeous gorgeous land. My friend and I literally drove from Florida just to camp here. It rained like crazy but we had such a good time :) Definitely hike to the falls. There’s so much potential for this place, we’re hoping to come back in a few months.”
