about bohamia
Bohamia is a 268-acre mountain retreat anchoring the southern edge of the Appalachian mountains and surrounded by 400,000 acres of the Talladega National Forest. Miles of hiking and biking trails, sparkling streams and a pond for fishing, plus an abundance of deer, turkeys and other wildlife, make for a magical weekend of re-wilding. Explore rolling hills, fields and forest, catch the sunset - and sunrise! - with a view of majestic Mount Horn, and fall asleep to the gentle sounds of nature under a wide open sky full of stars.
Welcome Center
The Welcome Center at Bohamia serves as guest check-in, headquarters, and a gathering spot for sunset views and communal campfires. Bring your favorite beverage around back and mingle with other campers as the setting sun shines on the Talladega Mountains and Pinhote Trail in the distance.

The Barn
The barn serves as a covered retreat and event space for happenings on the land. We occasionally host yoga, collaborative art events, and workshops in the space. In addition, the barn can be reserved for events and retreats.

The Pond
The Pond at Bohamia is stocked with a variety of fish, including bass and bream, so bring your tackle and see what bites. On hot summer days, take a dip in the cool, refreshing water and enjoy a swim. With a grassy beach area, a dock, and plenty of shaded spots for picnicking, The Pond is the perfect place to spend a day - or a week! And when the sun goes down, gather around your campfire and roast marshmallows under the stars to the light of the moon reflecting off the water.

The Talladega National Forest
The Land of Bohamia borders the Talladega National Forest, a gem of wilderness covering nearly 400,000 acres. The Forest is home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, including several threatened and endangered species. A haven for outdoor enthusiasts, The Forest features plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and picnicking. The Talladega National Forest is a truly special place, with breathtaking vistas, cascading waterfalls, and an abundance of natural beauty. And the Land of Bohamia makes the perfect basecamp for exploring this natural wonder.

“Beautiful property!“
“Spent a lovely evening and day in Bohamia. The property is spectacular! Campers were able to spread out all across the property. All the nooks and crannies are great if you're looking to get away and have your own private spot. Looking forward to seeing all the improvements they plan including RV hookups, bathhouse, retreat facilities, glamping options and more. The property hosts Leigh and Matt were wonderful!”
