Meteor Shower

The Lyrids peak on the night of April 21–22, 2024, when you can expect to see an average of 10 meteors per hour in dark, clear skies. Rarely, the Lyrids produce surges of up to 100 meteors per hour. This meteor shower is visible from both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere but is much more active in the Northern Hemisphere, where the meteors’ radiant is high in the sky. In 2024, the Moon will be 98% full during the Lyrids’ peak, which will make the shooting stars more difficult to see. Try watching in the early morning pre-dawn hours after the Moon has set. <via www.Almanac.com>

Meteor Shower

In the right conditions, the Quadrantids are one of the year’s best meteor showers, as they feature an average of 25 meteors per hour at their peak. The Quadrantids’ peak is relatively short, lasting from about midnight to dawn, but the volume of meteors makes the experience worthwhile.

In 2024, the Moon will be in the last quarter, obscuring the fainter meteors. Your best bet is to view after the Moon sets on the 4th of January, just before dawn <via www.Almanac.com>

Meteor Shower

The Geminids are THE biggest meteor shower of the year and the shooting stars streak across the sky the entire night with 75 meteors per hour at its peak. Plus, it gets dark early so you don’t have to stay up until the week hours to see theK king of the meteor showers.

In 2023, the peak is near the new Moon. It’s going to be a GREAT year for the Geminids! Plan ahead if you can to ensure you’re some place with very dark skies.

Meteor Shower

The Leonids normally an average shower with 10 to 15 shooting stars per hour, but on rare occasions, they have been known to produce “meteor storms,” which result in thousands of meteors streaking across the sky. (We do not expect meteor storms this year.)

In 2023, the Moon will be 23% full. However, it will set before midnight, leaving dark skies for what should be a good show. Look after midnight through early morning. <via www.Almanac.com>

Yoga on the Land w/alexis unger

Join us for a 10:00 am yoga session and Sunset Yoga hosted by Alexis Unger. $10 for both sessions when you book a camp, glamp, or RV spot for Saturday - you’ll see an add-on option when you book, or you can pay through our online camp store at the time of the event. Bring your mat! This is a rain or shine event - we’ll hold classes in the barn event space if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Alexis is a yoga and meditation teacher, ecstatic dance event organizer, music enthusiast, and in her spare time: writer, barista, and banker. Alexis was initially drawn to yoga after a fraught relationship with gym class and sports as an alternative, non-competitive method of movement and physical wellness. Alexis has since expanded their love of yoga to focus on meditation and overall mind-body connection.  Alexis completed her 200HR teacher training at Yoga Vida in New York City in 2018 and completed continuing education in Restorative Yoga teaching at Pure Yoga, also in NYC. When attending one of their classes, you can expect vinyasa flow movement to wake up the body with a focus on slowing down afterwards in preparation for meditation. Her passion is encouraging students to slow down and connect with their inner voice both on and off the mat through yoga, meditation, and writing.

The Orionids are named after one of the most recognizable constellations in the sky, Orion, from which these meteors appear to radiate. Often featuring some of brightest and fastest streaking stars, the Orionids appear in mid October and reach their peak in the hours before dawn on October 21.

In 2023, the Orionids will be visible. Though the Moon is 37% full (close to First Quarter), it sets around midnight, leaving dark skies for what could be a good show . <via www.Almanac.com>

Meteor Shower

The Draconids aren’t the bigger show of the year, but they do mark the start of a busy season of meteor showers. After the Draconids, a shower happens every one to two weeks until late December.

The second quarter moon will dark skies in the early evening for what should be a good show. Best viewing will be in the early evening from a dark location far away from city lights.

In 2023, the shower will peak close to new Moon, and so moonlight will present minimal interference. The best time to watch the Draconids is early evening on October 8. <via www.Almanac.com>

Connection gathering

Connection gathering

Join us in this weekend-long connection gathering! Together, we’ll create a space for humans who wish to explore the deeper relationships possible through vulnerability. Become immersed in a world of connection to self, community, and Mother Earth.

It can feel easy to shy away from the things that may bring us closer, constructing walls that prevent us from truly seeing one another. This retreat will allow us begin to bring those walls down, creating a safe space to promote healing and love.

What to expect: connection to the self through soundbath and meditation, connection to the earth through plant walk and tea ceremony, and connection to each other through healing circles and intentional conversation, as well as down time to allow rest and reset.

Options for camping, glamping, and yummy vegan meals available! Message Hannah for any questions or more details✨

Delta Aquarid Meteor Shower

The Delta Aquarids get their name from the constellation Aquarius, which they appear to emanate from. A weaker shower, the Delta Aquarids typically reach their peak in late July and produce between 10 and 20 meteors per hour around this time. A truly dark sky offers the best chance at seeing the Delta Aquarids, as they tend to not be as bright as some of the other meteor showers.

In 2023, the nearly-full Moon (95% full) will obscure most of the fainter meteors. <via www.Almanac.com>
